Julia Cheng

Julia is an educator and facilitator passionate about science, play, and community responsive design.  She comes to Winter with over a decade of experience in education, primarily teaching middle school science in Oakland public schools.  More recently, Julia has been creating professional development experiences for teachers at the California Academy of Sciences.  She’s looking forward to bringing her knowledge about inclusive practices and eliciting participation to community engagement work. Outside of work, you’ll find Julia spending time with her partner, friends, family, and cat.  Her hobbies are journaling, hiking, and learning about local history.  You may also see her staying connected to the Bay Area’s vibrant teacher community through the Exploratorium and Agency by Design Oakland.
